ParkShare collects only what's necessary to provide a safe, reliable parking marketplace. We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and phone number when you register.
• Profile data: Profile photo, vehicle information, and any optional details you choose to add.
• Listing information: For hosts — spot address, photos, pricing, and availability schedules.
• Booking records: Reservation history, check-in/check-out times, and transaction amounts.
• Payment data: Card details are processed by our payment provider and never stored on ParkShare servers.
• Device information: Device type, OS version, and app version for performance and debugging.

We use the information we collect to operate, improve, and protect the ParkShare platform. Specific uses include:

• Matching drivers with available parking spots in real time.
• Processing reservations and payments between hosts and drivers.
• Sending booking confirmations, reminders, and receipts via email or push notification.
• Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and platform violations.
• Improving app features and fixing bugs using anonymised usage data.
• Resolving disputes between hosts and drivers where necessary.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to serve you advertising.

ParkShare shares limited data with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, real-time database, and cloud storage.
• Payment processors: Encrypted card handling and payout processing.
• Push notification providers: For delivery of booking-related notifications only.

We may disclose data to law enforcement or legal authorities if required by applicable law, or to protect the safety of our users and the integrity of the platform.

We never share your data for marketing purposes with any third party.

Location is central to ParkShare's core functionality. Here is exactly how we handle it:

• Location access is requested when you open the map to find nearby spots.
• We use "while using the app" location access only — never background tracking.
• Your precise location is never shared with hosts or other users.
• Host address privacy: A host's exact address is never shown to drivers before a booking is confirmed. Only an approximate location is shown during the search phase.
• After booking confirmation, the exact address and access instructions are revealed only to the confirmed driver.

We take data security seriously and implement the following measures:

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encrypted connections.
• Passwords are hashed using Firebase Authentication — we never store plaintext passwords.
• Payment card data is handled exclusively by PCI-compliant payment processors.
• Firebase Security Rules enforce that users can only access their own data.
• Booking overlap and validation logic runs server-side to prevent tampering.
• We conduct periodic security reviews of our Firebase rules and access controls.

You have the following rights over your personal data at any time:

• Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Update incorrect or incomplete information in your profile.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data. Bookings are retained for legal and financial record-keeping purposes.
• Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection: Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances.
